MANAGING DIRECTOR
As the MD of the company, you will work with the Executive Management team to define and articulate the company's strategic vision, Revenue and profit objectives and work with the operating team to achieve the set objectives. You are fully responsible for the target of the company.

Job Description
• As the lead insurance broker, you act as an intermediary between clients and insurance companies. Clients may be either individuals or commercial businesses and organizations.
• You are expected to use your in-depth knowledge of risks and the insurance market to find and arrange suitable insurance policies for clients.
• As an independent insurance broker, we plan to offer products from more than one insurer to ensure that clients get the best deal. You will lead this charge and ensure this happens.
• The scope of insurance policies we carry, range from vehicle insurance which is required by law to drive a vehicle in Nigeria, to public, employers' or product liability insurance, which pays compensation on the basis of the assessment of legal liability for damage injury or harm.

Responsibilities
• This will include revenue and profit generation, including new business development and acting as the placing broker and claims broker.

Other Tasks Are
• gathering information from clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile;
• building and maintaining ongoing relationships with clients including scheduling and attending meetings and understanding the nature of clients' businesses or lives;
• foreseeing clients' insurance needs, such as policy renewals;
• researching insurance companies' policies and negotiating with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for clients at the best price;
• arranging specialised types of insurance cover in complex cases; this may involve preparing reports for insurance underwriters and surveyors and negotiating with insurers;
• advising clients on risk management, and helping to devise new ways to mitigate risks, for example, by adding security measures such as fencing, surveillance cameras or lighting to commercial properties to reduce the likelihood of break-ins;
• renewing or amending existing policies;
• advising clients whether and when they need to make a claim on their policies;
• marketing and acquiring new clients;
• developing relationships with underwriters, surveyors, photographers, structural engineers and other professionals;
• administrative tasks such as dealing with paperwork, correspondence, keeping detailed records;
• winning accounts against competitors;
• keeping up with changes in the insurance market and in the clients' industries;
• collecting insurance premiums and processing accounts
While all of the above are the responsibilities of the MD, it is expected that you will build a team to help you in the implementation of the objectives and in achieving these responsibilities.

Skills and Experience
• Candidates must be dynamic, intelligent, and have practical industry experience with a strong understanding of technology.
Other Requirements
• Must be a trained insurance professional with up to date certification and testing in the relevant areas
• Must have 5+ years post certification experience - Chartered Insurance Institute
• Must have operating experience in senior management roles and in particular in the execution of new projects and launching of new products
• Demonstrated understanding of key laws and rules guiding insurance brokers, insurance companies and customers in this market
• Demonstrated understanding of the use of technology in doing your work and the opportunities in using technology in the insurance industry
• Ability to lead and manage a team of professionals
• Minimum of BS/BA degree or equivalent education
• Excellent written and oral communications, good organization speed to execute work, maturity, and sense of judgment
• Must have integrity and high sense of ethical responsibility

Major Duties and responsibilities will include the following among others:
Undertake analytical work in agriculture sector/agriculture production and marketing infrastructure development with a view to determining its level of priority in the country‘s development program, and advise Management on how to ensure sustainability of benefits of Bank financed agricultural projects and programs in Nigeria;
Contribute to the Preparation of Country Strategy Paper, with particular reference to agriculture and rural infrastructure development;
Formulate, evaluate and supervise projects, lending proposals, feasibility studies and sector work.
Actively participate in the programming, arranging and execution of Banks supervision missions for agriculture and agro-industry development;

Essential Skills and capabilities
The incumbent should possess a Masters degree or its equivalent in Agricultural Engineering and at least seven years of professional experience in program/project design and management, broad knowledge- of all agriculture sub-sectors, and with specific experience in implementation and management of donor funded projects in an African setting;
Previous experience working in multi-lateral financial institutions or similar large organisations, and performing such roles' as project preparing, appraising, supervising or implementing donor funded projects;
Full understanding of the, principles of project cycle and project implementation as applicable in the regional member countries (RMCs) is required for portfolio management; Proven planning and organizational skills. Strong conceptual and research/analytical skills, with ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze and integrate diverse information from varied sources into conclusions and recommendations; excellent oral, and writing skills; In-depth knowledge of social, political and development issues in the country;
Proven ability to, Interact competently with the staff of government and donor agencies on issues relating to aid coordination;
Competence in the use of COSTAB and Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Access, MS projects and PowerPoint);
Ability to communicate and write effectively in English. A good working knowledge of French will be an advantage.

The World Bank, Country Office in Nigeria is looking for a highly organized, energized and experienced professional, capable of operating effectively in a very demanding fast-paced environment to serve as the local Procurement Specialist.

The operations and country procurement services, in the Africa Region of the World Bank, are provided by the Africa Region Procurement Group (AFTPC) that is part of the Operational Quality and Knowledge Services Department (AFTQK). AFTQK also includes the Financial Management Services Group, the Results and Learning Group, and the Operations Support Group.

The Regional Procurement Manager based in Washington has the overall responsibility for the management of the procurement function in AFR. The procurement team currently includes 65+ staff and consultants, located in 34 country offices and Washington. AFTPC currently has seven (7) decentralized Procurement Hub Coordinators to ensure coordination, monitoring and quality of the work in their respective countries. Their primary responsibility is to carry out the procurement fiduciary and service function for Bank projects and country procurement reforms, with frequent interaction with the RPM office for advice, leadership, and clearance of procurement decisions over the RPM and Operations Procurement Review Committee (OPRC) thresholds. The RPM is responsible for quality assurance and oversight over the fiduciary and reform work, and for management of all procurement programs and staff in the region of 47 countries.

The Procurement Specialist will be located in the World Bank Country Office in Abuja, Nigeria to support Bank’s operations in Nigeria and in other countries assigned from time to time. S/he will also work on country procurement system improvements. The work implies frequent interaction with Managers and Technical Specialists in the sector and country management units and staff from other agencies, donors, consultants and borrowers. More specifically, working together with other procurement specialists in the same country office, and under the guidance and supervision of the Lead Procurement Specialist/Procurement Hub Coordinator based in the Nigeria country office, and under the management of Regional Procurement Manager (RPM) based in Washington.
